The Swiss Textile Cleaning Control Body (VKTS) association has existed since 1989 and aims to monitor compliance with all relevant regulations of textile and leather cleaning and related industries in the sense of self-responsibility and self-control within the industry. In order to achieve this purpose, the association concludes cooperation agreements with cantonal authorities and receives corresponding control orders from them. More than 500 companies (approx. 85% of Switzerland) are currently subject to inspection activities. The companies are checked using a test report and, if they pass the check, they are awarded an environmental protection certificate. The certificate guarantees that the company complies with environmental protection laws and the corresponding regulations and that it strives for sustainable textile care.
